Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia is an independent, voluntary, and non-profit association founded with the aim of improving cooperation between Japan and the Republic of Serbia, through the development of economic and cultural relations between these countries, in order to achieve the common interests of its members.
JBAS is recognized as reference point of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
We aim to safeguard the interests and promote the Japanese business community in Serbia, including both Japanese companies and Serbian companies that work closely with Japanese companies. We achieve this by promoting Japanese business culture and values, providing support in establishing business contacts and cooperation between the Japanese and Serbian business communities, as well as by intensifying the involvement of the Japanese business community in creating and improving business conditions in the Republic of Serbia. Our goal is to provide support in intensifying trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Japanese companies in Serbia are seen as one of the best employers in the local market. The long-term character and reliability of their projects are evidenced by the fact that through only 4 projects of Japanese companies, over 7,000 jobs were opened in Serbia. Japanese investors contribute to technology transfer and raise the level of professionalism of work ethic in Serbia. In the region of the Western Balkans, Serbia has stood out as the most important partner and host of Japan. Traditionally good relations between the two countries have especially contributed to this. The position of Serbia as a favourable investment destination for access to the markets of the European Union and Russia, a strong tradition of industrial production, as well as the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia to foreign direct investments also contributed to this.
The Japanese Business Alliance consists of its members, to whom the association in cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of Japan in Serbia, JICA, and Jetro, provides direct business support, ideas development and experience exchange framework, and connecting with companies and institutions in Serbia, the region and Japan.
